Adair County VINELink Coverage
Kentucky VINE works statewide. It handles custody information and notifications. The Adair County jail information page reports that the jail's booking computers connect directly to VINE, and state guidance extends coverage to county jails and adult correctional facilities. That reach helps whether a person sits in local custody or has moved into Kentucky Department of Corrections custody.
VINELink and the jail roster answer different questions. The Adair County Regional Jail roster is the official linked view of people currently displayed at that jail. VINE watches one person instead. Think of it as a watch on a single name. It also offers optional notices when that status changes later.
The VINELink search screen opens with a state selection. No private alert details are needed just to start a search.

The public VINELink screen shows only the state-selection start.
Check an Adair County Arrest
Gather enough identifying detail to single out the right person. Kentucky accepts a partial name, a full name, or an offender identification number. Similar names appear often. Before trusting a match, check the details. Make sure the county, facility, identifier, and displayed status all agree.
- Open VINELink and select Kentucky from the state list.
- Choose the offender search function, then enter a partial or full name or the offender ID when known.
- Review possible matches carefully. Confirm Adair County, Adair County Regional Jail, or the correct Kentucky correctional facility rather than relying on the name alone.
- Open the matching record and note the displayed custody status, facility, offender ID, and the time the information was checked.
- If no result appears after a fresh arrest, check the official jail roster and call the jail at 270-384-5701 before concluding that the person was released.
For deeper booking details, turn to the Adair County recent-arrest sources. That page collects arrest and booking records. Use it alongside any custody result.
What a VINELink Result Means
The vendor decides which fields each custody system returns. Read a result as a status record, nothing more. It is not a full account of the underlying incident.
| Field or status | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Displayed name | Compare spelling and other identifiers; a name alone is not enough to establish a match. |
| Offender ID | Use the identifier to distinguish similar names and find the same record again. |
| Custody status | Read it as the service's current reported status, subject to transmission and system lag. |
| Facility | Confirm whether the person is shown in an Adair County jail or Kentucky DOC record. |
| Status change | Release, transfer, escape, or another displayed change may trigger a notice. |
A release can remove someone from the current roster. Yet an older booking record, a news story, or a court case can still exist. A transfer may also create two relevant custody records for one person. Kentucky's VINE FAQ notes that some DOC offenders also have local jail records. Users may need to register for both.
Register for Kentucky Custody Alerts
Registration costs nothing. It can stay anonymous. Kentucky DOC describes phone and email options, though the choices displayed in VINELink govern which alert types and delivery methods are currently available. Never enter another person's contact information or expose a victim's registration data.
- From the correct offender record, select “Notify Me.”
- Choose an offered delivery method, such as a telephone number or email address, and select the available custody events.
- Create a four-digit PIN for telephone registration and keep it available. The PIN can be needed to acknowledge a notification.
- Review the record and alert type before completing registration, especially if local and state records both appear.
- Keep the jail and responsible agency contacts available as a second verification route.
The county page lists 1-800-511-1670. That line covers county-jail and state-prison information, and registered users may be alerted when a person is released. VINE should supplement a safety plan and direct contact with law enforcement, never replace either.
Adair County Scan and Alert Timing
The county VINE deployment source, an older jail-information page, says booking computers are scanned every ten minutes. Statewide guidance adds a second number. Some alert calls repeat every 30 minutes for 24 hours, or until acknowledged. Those figures describe different layers of the system.
A ten-minute scan is not a promise. Public results may refresh more slowly. Booking work, transmission, vendor processing, facility updates, and the chosen delivery channel each affect timing. Repeat phone notices run on their own interval. No result works as an exact real-time clock.

That notice is historical context. A current jail or VINELink result should still control. Note: Record the time of every check, because an earlier screen cannot prove a status still holds.
Custody Systems VINELink Does Not Replace
No single search covers every stage after an Adair County arrest. Match the system to the person's custody state and the record you need.
- Just booked locally
- Check Adair County Regional Jail's official JailTracker roster. A new intake may not yet have reached VINE.
- Released from local custody
- Use VINE for a reported status change, then request the booking or agency record if the roster entry is gone.
- Sentenced to Kentucky prison
- Use Kentucky DOC's KOOL offender search; it is not a list of every local arrest.
- Federal custody
- Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. VINELink does not replace it.
- Immigration custody
- Use ICE's Online Detainee Locator when appropriate. An absent Adair facility listing proves nothing about a person's status.
The trail continues past the jail. Each later stage keeps its own record. The arresting agency and the Adair County Court of Justice hold those pieces, and jail custody, a police report, a VINE status, and a court disposition remain separate records with different custodians.
Verify Alerts During a VINE Outage
Kentucky reported a temporary VINE disruption after false release notifications in February 2026. Service was restored on February 6. The event shows why. Any automated alert needs an independent path for verification, and the Kentucky Justice service notice records both the interruption and the restoration.

That notice is history, not proof of a current outage. Keep the jail's direct number close at hand.
Confirm a Fresh Adair County Booking
A blank VINELink result is not the final word on an arrest. Someone can be booked and still slip past the system's notice for a while. Start with the jail's own roster instead. Then try the Arrests Last 24 Hours route and the booking line by phone. Were you asking about the event itself, not current custody? Then the arresting agency is the place to request its incident or arrest report.
Adair County Regional Jail sits at 204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, Kentucky 42728, and answers at 270-384-5701. The Adair County Sheriff's Office works from 424 Public Square, Suite 20, with a main line of 270-384-2776 during weekday office hours. Columbia Police matters can start with CPD at 270-384-4119.
Each tool has one job. VINELink tracks custody status and sends notifications. JailTracker carries the jail's public roster of who is in custody right now. An agency holds the narrative of the arrest itself. Courts hold what happens to the case afterward. Check the record at its source.
